I was raised in rural Triangle Lake, Oregon. I am a real country girl native to Oregon. I rode horses but never owned one. I always LOVED horses! The thought of a horse made my heart flutter with delight (STILL DOES!!!). I had two children early in my life and focused on raising them. When my daughter, Rhiannon, moved away to Texas I decided it was time to follow my dream of owning a horse. I had no idea how it was going to impact my life. We were living in California at the time. I took lessons and was instantly hooked. I went on many trail rides in Coto De Caza , CA and it was a beautiful area to ride! Well I knew instantly that this was it for me. I bought my first horse on complete impulse and it was a disaster! The owner had drugged the horse and when I brought him home he tried to kill me. No exaggeration. He sat back violently, bucked, reared and bolted. Sounds like the perfect first horse? I was able to trade my horse for another that the horse trader had for sale. It was her personal horse, but we saw no other horses we wanted. Welcome Cisco the love of my life! An Appendix/Quarter horse red dun, he is blind in one eye. Cisco has blazed the trail down my horsy path. He immediately bucked me off and started teaching me the seriousness of being a horse owner. I became afraid of my horse. I loved him dearly but was afraid. I went to a Parelli Expo with two of my friends. When I saw Pat and Linda ride I started crying. I knew this was for me! I started studying Parelli and found so many simple things to do that will keep you safe. Although I do not do Parelli exclusively I do find the 7 games are absolutely a necessary part of any training plan. After serious consideration my husband and I decided to move to Texas. Ah, welcome the next big step in my life TEXAS. We bought 8 acres and started rescuing horses. It has been a tough journey but I am in heaven! I am up at 4:30am to feed each day. I love to see my horses! I am such a nut that I greet each and every horse. While turning them out I tell them to have a great day and I MEAN IT!
Anyway, that is a little about me. I am extremely passionate about my horses. I believe in gentleness and caring. My life has been seriously impacted by horses. I have found my niche in life. We run this ranch very successfully with the help of our volunteers. This is a family run rescue. We depend on our volunteers and generous donations.
